Why 'Winning' Matters To Me

Winning.

When was the last time you “won?”

I’m always noodling on the OneNineNinety brand and messaging and landed on a simple phrase:

We Help Organizations Win With Messages That Matter

I had to pause on the word “win.”

Why does that word feel so right to me for what I do for my clients?

The answer: I think it was a subconscious idea from my political chapter. In fact, I once created a sign for my first Congressional race that said:

Win The Election Today

We didn’t win that first race but I worked my tail off every single day and won big in the long-term. In fact, I was headed to Washington, DC a few months later.

So back to the word “win.”

This word is so good. The idea is universally compelling, much sexier and emotionally appealing then using any other similar word.

Words have to matter to communicate them with passion and clarity; and I have a feeling that my clients want someone with an attitude that they’re going to “win” with us.

A hard work ethic might be hard to find; but you just did with the OneNineNinety team.
